THE FEATHER HILL SPA

Client Consultation, Consent & Indemnity Agreement & Spa Etiquette

Your comfort, safety and wellbeing are our highest priorities. To ensure we provide treatments safely and effectively, please read and sign this agreement before your appointment.

1. Health Declaration

I confirm that I have disclosed all relevant medical information that may affect my treatment, including but not limited to:

Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy
Heart conditions or high blood pressure
Diabetes
Epilepsy
Recent surgery or injuries
Skin conditions, allergies or sensitivities
Infectious diseases
Current medication
Any other medical condition that may affect my treatment
I understand that withholding medical information may increase the risk of complications during or after treatment.

2. Treatment Consent

I voluntarily consent to receiving spa treatments provided by The Feather Hill Spa.

I understand that treatments are intended for relaxation and wellness and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment.

I acknowledge that treatment outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

3. Client Responsibilities

I agree to:

Inform my therapist immediately if I experience discomfort or pain during treatment.
Follow all pre-treatment and aftercare advice provided.
Arrive free from alcohol or recreational drugs.
Respect the peaceful environment of the spa.

4. Allergies and Product Sensitivities

I acknowledge that spa products contain natural and cosmetic ingredients that may cause allergic reactions or skin sensitivities in certain individuals.

I have informed my therapist of any known allergies or sensitivities.

5. Personal Property

The Feather Hill Spa accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings brought onto the premises.

Guests are encouraged to secure valuables in the lockers provided or leave valuables at home.

6. Medical Emergencies

Should an emergency arise during my treatment, I authorise The Feather Hill Spa to obtain medical assistance on my behalf.

Any medical costs incurred remain my responsibility.

7. Limitation of Liability

While every reasonable care is taken to ensure my safety, I acknowledge that spa treatments carry inherent risks.

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, I release and indemnify The Feather Hill Spa, The Feather Hill Boutique Hotel, its directors, employees and therapists from claims arising from ordinary risks associated with treatments, except where liability results from negligence, gross negligence, recklessness or unlawful conduct.

8. Pregnancy

If I am pregnant or suspect that I may be pregnant, I confirm that I have informed my therapist.

I understand that certain treatments may not be suitable during pregnancy and may be modified or declined for my safety.

9. Photography

I understand that no photographs or videos will be taken without my permission.

Should I consent to photographs being used for marketing purposes, separate written consent will be obtained.

10. Privacy

My personal information and medical information will be treated as confidential and processed in accordance with applicable South African privacy legislation.

11. Late Arrival

Late arrival may result in a shortened treatment to avoid delaying subsequent appointments.

The full treatment fee may still apply.

12. Cancellation Policy

To secure your booking:

Individual treatments: 25% deposit

Couples treatments: 50% deposit

Packages and spa days: 50% deposit

Groups: 50% deposit

Events and bridal groups: 100% deposit

Cancellation:

More than 48 hours: Full refund

24–48 hours: 50% deposit forfeited

Less than 24 hours: Deposit forfeited

No-show: 100% charged

13. Right to Refuse Treatment

The Feather Hill Spa reserves the right to refuse or discontinue treatment where:

A guest appears intoxicated.
A medical condition makes treatment unsafe.
Inappropriate behaviour is displayed.
A therapist believes treatment could place the guest or therapist at risk.

14. Spa Etiquette

Every client needs to fill in the Client Consultation Form before every treatment.
The Disclaimer on the Client Consultation Form needs to be signed before your treatment.
Should you have any skin conditions or allergies, please inform your therapist about them again.
The Hydro facilities is a non-smoking area.
To respect all clients enjoying a treatment, please keep noise/ conversation levels to a minimum.
The whole spa is a noise free zone.  Disrespectful clients will be asked to leave the spa.
The gowns and slippers in the restrooms are the property of The Feather Hill.
When undressing before a treatment, respectfully keep your underwear on.
If any guest makes our therapists uncomfortable or display any sexual misconduct during the treatment.  The therapist will leave the room.
The manager will be called to the treatment room to escort your from the spa.
Right of admission is reserved. You enter the Spa at own risk.
The Feather Hill Spa will not be held responsible for any theft, damage, loss or misfortune that may occur.
Children younger than 14 years needs spa management approval before making a booking.
No child may be left in the spa unsupervised especially at the Hydro facilities.
Vouchers are valid for 1 year from purchase date.
